Announcement from the Bishop concerning the Rev. Deacon Tom Duplessie

Dear Friends in Christ:
In sadness I share the following news:

The Rev. Thomas Frederick Duplessie, deacon of The Episcopal Diocese of Maine, died suddenly on 20 March 2018. Tom was ordained in 2004 by The Rt. Rev. Chilton Knudsen and served at St. Martin’s, Palmyra / All Saints, Skowhegan, St. John’s in Bangor, and retired recently from active ministry at St. Margaret’s in Belfast. Tom was also a past member of Diocesan Council and served on the Diocesan Convention Study Task Force. In his lay profession, he was a Medical Social Worker and Bereavement Coordinator, specializing in hospice and palliative care. He also had an active and vibrant prison ministry.
Tom was born in Waterville, Maine and received degrees from Thomas Jr. College, the University of Maine, the State University of New York, and Bangor Theological Seminary. He is survived by two sons and a brother.
Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Newport, and a Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 900 Main St in Palmyra at a later date. No other details are currently available.

Correction: The Memorial Eucharist for The Rev. Thomas Frederick Duplessie, deacon of The Episcopal Diocese of Maine, who died on 20 March 2018, will be celebrated at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 95 Court St in Belfast on April 14th. It will not be held at St. Martin’s in Palmyra as previously announced. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Newport. Time of the service and other details are not currently available.
