Come Hear the Stories

In two weeks, St. Margaret’s will be partying. We have a real success to celebrate:  new members!  Since COVID, this congregation has attracted 42 new people and we want to introduce them. We will do that by telling their stories, dozens of them, at a potluck luncheon and desert party on Saturday, Jan. 17th. 

So far, 15 parishioners have volunteered to interview 24 of the new people.  They are doing that now, in advance, using a series of questions geared to draw out  interesting, unusual and humorous histories. At the party, those interviewers will introduce the newcomers. Expect some light-hearted fun.  

We will hear the stories after the potluck while we share coffee and a series of elaborate, over-the-top desserts that have been promised by some of our best cooks. Think giant pavlova with whipped cream and fruit, silky tiramisu, sweet cinnamon rolls, Kentucky bourbon chocolate icebox cake, Mary Berry’s Winter Trifle … and more yet to be determined.

The luncheon will start  at 1 p.m. Bring whatever you would like to share and bring  your own beverages. Coffee will be provided.
