ST. MARGARET'S (BELFAST, MAINE)

Outreach

Everyone in our parish has the opportunity to serve in some way to spread the Gospel of Christ outside our walls.  Some are initiators of new projects, some do the same ministry on a monthly basis, and some are active on an as needed basis.  We believe that all efforts meet with God’s approval.

Currently, the following projects have contact people within the parish, and updates are given monthly at meetings or as needed.

On the second Friday of the month from 1-3PM you can find parishioners, staff and men from the Mid-Coast Re-Entry Center playing board games in the parish hall.

  • Food Cupboard – packing and distribution on a monthly basis.
  • Weekly collection of food donations offered for blessing on Sundays.
  • Diaper program
  • Knit the Community
  • New Hope for Women
  • Soup Kitchen
  • Soap Closet
  • Window Dressers
  • Midcoast ReEntry Center/Restorative Justice (clothing collections and game afternoons)
  • H.O.M.E.
  • But Still I Am One

Funding for programs comes from special in-gatherings on the 5th Sundays during the year,  from fund-raising, and special donations. The Outreach Committee determines how the funds will be used and these recommendations are approved by the Vestry.

We truly believe in taking our ministry ‘into the highways and byways’ of St. Margaret’s community and across the oceans to other shores
